For lunch, we started with a beautiful spread of Italian meats, and sides, and then moved onto four courses of pasta followed by dessert! The wine was flowing and the hospitality of the team ensured the experience finished with a bang through karaoke and dancing. Elena was so knowledgeable about all of the processes when giving the tour ensuring we took away plenty of knowledge. “My family and I scheduled this pasta class with high hopes and Paola did not disappoint! We entered her lovely home in the center of Bologna and felt welcomed and comfortable. Paola is learning English and had a translator with her who we also loved (thank you Agnese!). We were immediately put to work making tiramisu, pumpkin gnocchi and tagliatelle ragu. Paola had done quite a bit of preparation so everything was ready for us. She was organized, clean, and kept us all busy. We enjoyed the meal (which was so much food!) at her dining room table and stayed chatting for quite some time, never feeling rushed.”

Watching the actual process of making parmigiano was so interesting and our guide was very knowledgeable about the process for both the parmigiano and the prosciutto di Parma. She knew the staff at both locations by name and we were the only tourists there, no other large groups also touring, which made it feel very personal and special. I also thought it was really cool that the prosciutto di Parma factory we went to is 4th generation family women-owned and run! The lunch was fantastic quality at a lovely agriturismo. The whole experience was great!”
